First, I want to apologize for the crappy quality of these pics. You can barely make out what I'm trying to present here, from all the brush. I plan to return soon, and take the time to clear out the brush, to get a better view.
This is what appears to be a weighing station, possibly to weighthe scrap materials before dumping?
Due to the amount of brush, it's hard to make out details in the
picture. I can tell you, though, that it's basically a concrete foundation, with
various small metal beams running across, along with wood as well. There's also
what appears to be a set of small, narrow-gauge rails going across the length of
it.
I suppose it's entirely possible that it was simply a foundation
to a small foreman's office or something, just as it's very possible that this
wasn't even part of the Earlston Furnace operation at all; It may have been part
of New Enterprise Stone & Lime's operations in the area...
